The DMV requires you to attend a clinic. You must complete the entire eight hour course. If you fail to complete the clinic by the DMV deadline, your driving privilege will be suspended until you meet this requirement.
Your license has been revoked and you are required to complete the course as part of your reinstatement process.
You may also volunteer to take this course, if you are 20 and over and have a Virginia driver's license, and receive up to 5 safe driving points on your driving record. Students who satisfactorily complete this 8-hour course can now also get insurance premium reductions. Individuals should contact their insurance companies to advise as to whether or not they offer this discount.
How do I know if I am eligible to take this course?
The Virginia DMV has reviewed and Approved this On-Line Clinic. If the DMV requires you to take a Driver Improvement Clinic and you meet the age requirements, you are eligible. Your court may or may not accept the certificate of completion. It is your responsibility to determine if your court accepts on-line driver improvement clinics. If you are under age 20, you are not eligible to take a computer-based driver improvement course. To satisfy a DMV requirement, you must satisfactorily complete a driver improvement clinic that provides classroom instruction.
How long do I have to complete the course?
You can complete the course at your own pace logging on and off as many times as necessary to complete the course. However, keep in mind, the DMV or court has probably given you a deadline or due date by which you need to complete the course.
When do I get my Certificate of Completion?
You will receive your Certificate of Completion 3-5 business days by mail after you have passed your 15-30 minute Final Exam, which you must take in-person at one our posted Test Areas. TEST AREAS - Click Here You will be permitted to take the final exam after we have checked your identification and verified that you have completed the 11 Sessions on-line.
How much does the course cost and how do I pay for it?
The cost of the course is $45. You may pay this fee by clicking on the PayPal link located below or on the home page of this www.allstardriveronline.com; or on the link provided in your welcome email. The fee must be paid before you sit down at the computer to take the Final Exam at one of our Test Areas. Once you have passed the Final Exam you will receive your Certificate of Completion in 3 - 5 business days.
Do I need any special computer system requirements or downloads to take the course?
There are NO special system requirements or downloads necessary to take this on- line course.
How do I register for this course?
1. To begin, return to our Home Page and click on the "all new users click here to register" link on the left hand side of the page or on the "register" link at the bottom of that same page. 2. Select your course. 3. Fill out the Registration form. 4. Review the information and click on the "register" button. 5. The list of sections will appear. Click on the "start course" button to begin learning!
Do I need to use the same computer to complete the course?
No; you can log-in, re-enter, and take the course using any computer with any type of Internet connection.
If I am already registered and have exited after completing only some of the sessions, how do I re-enter the course?
Simply go to our Home Page and in the "Re-Enter the Course" section on the left, enter your First Name, Last Name, and Birthday (mm/dd/yy) just as you did when you registered for the course. Then hit the "login!" button to resume the course. Don't worry, our student progress monitoring feature will allow you to pick up exactly where you left off.
What happens if I fail the Final Exam?
You may review and retake the course on-line for FREE until you pass. However, per Virginia rules, you can only take the final exam once per calendar day.
